Expert workshop on Sustainable Energy Transitions in Asia

Lectures, etc. Ito Campus Applications not open yet

The Expert Workshop on Sustainable Energy Transitions in Asia will be held during the Kyushu University Energy Week (Jan 27 – 31, 2020), a Q-PIT annual event at Ito Campus.
During this event, Adrian Bejan, J. A. Jones Distinguished Professor at Duke University who is the recipient of the Benjamin Franklin Medal for "Thermodynamics and constructal theory” will deliver a speech on constructal theory and its applications to the sustainable energy transitions.
Constructal theory is the thought that the generation of flow configurations is the evolutionary design phenomenon of all physics. Flow configuration, such as the trees of river basins, lungs and city traffic unite the natural with the engineered, and the animate with the inanimate: “For a finite-size flow system to persist (to live) it must morph in time such that it provides easier access to the currents that flow through it”. The workshop program includes a book launch session for his recently published book “The Physics of Life (Japanese edition, 流れといのち)”
