Implementation of Kyushu University Open Access Policy has started

The Implementation of the Kyushu University Open Access Policy has been started on January 1st, 2017.

Under the Policy (approved in January, 2016), Kyushu University shall disclose its publicly funded research outputs by the faculty members via the Kyushu University Institutional Repository (QIR). This is aiming to establish an international foothold which contribute to mankind and society, based on the Kyushu University Research Charter. The Implementation Guideline of the Policy was approved on December 2nd, 2016, and the implementation has just started.

All the faculty members are recommended to deposit their research outputs (journal articles, departmental bulletin papers, conference papers) published on and after January 1st, 2017 to QIR along the following manual. If disclosure of the output to the public is not appropriate by an unavoidable reason, please make waiver application of the Policy in depositing to QIR.

To minimize the burden of the faculty's deposit, we are developing system cooperation between "Academic Staff Educational and Research Activities Database" and QIR (to be released in late 2017).
Until then, please deposit research outputs directly to QIR.

We are planning to hold workshops about the Policy on all the campus. The details will be announced later.
