Regarding Domestic Infections of the New Influenza (H1N1) (2nd Edition)

The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry notified the prefectural and municipal governments on May 13th that it has shortened the medical observation period from 10 days to 7 days for people who arrive from counties and regions where new influenza (H1N1) outbreaks have been confirmed.
Accordingly, our previous notification, “Regarding Domestic Infections of the New Influenza (H1N1),” posted on the university website on May 9th, which asked those who have returned from overseas to stay indoors for “10 days,” has been revised to “seven days.”
Please make sure to regularly check the university website, as we will keep you updated with announcements and notifications from the university based on the latest policies and actions of the government.
We remind you once again to observe the following instructions as well:

【Overseas Travel】

• We urge that you refrain from traveling to countries and regions (*1) where new influenza (H1N1) outbreaks have been confirmed or are suspected, and also that you reconsider your plans to travel to other countries and regions after giving thought to the necessity of travel versus the risk involved. If traveling abroad is necessary, be sure to wear a mask in crowded areas such as academic conference venues. We strongly suggest that you postpone any trips to Mexico unless the trip is urgent or necessary.

For seven days after you depart the country or region, we urge that you check and record your body temperature and carefully monitor yourself for symptoms.
