Utilization of Clean Energy (Hatchobaru Geothermal Power Station, Oita Prefecture, Central Kyushu)

The Graduate School of Engineering is ranked as one of the top schools in the world and has recently been designated a Center of Excellence (COE) based on its advanced engineering research and education. In 2000, the Graduate School of Engineering reorganized its system of departments together with its curriculum of major subjects and basic education courses. The Graduate School of Engineering consists of 11 departments and one education research center. The Graduate School of Engineering was designated a COE in Japan following this reform and reorganization of the old Graduate School system.
The research activities of the Graduate School of Engineering are highly diverse. They have focused not only on subject research but also research related to social systems and the environment. The Graduate School has been quite successful in developing and applying new fields of science and technology through cooperation between our departments and the education center.

Our policy of graduate education is to develop highly capable and committed scientists and engineers in the engineering and industrial fields.
