The Law School was established in April 2004. The School is an advanced educational institution for legal professions, instituted in response to, or according to, the gRecommendation of the Justice System Reform Councilh issued in 2001.
One of the Schoolfs goals is to prepare legal professionals to work in and out of courts on behalf of citizens, to attend to the needs of clients with warm-hearted consideration, and to have fair perspectives that take into account the opinions of the judge as well as of the general public.
The Law Schoolfs admission policy is to bring together highly motivated students from a wide variety of backgrounds who will pursue the Schoolfs mission of fairness, openness and diversity.
The Curriculum of the School includes not only legal theory and practice, but also subjects such as politics, economics, medical science, psychology, sociology and pedagogy, which are helpful for cultivating humanity in students and providing them with the basic knowledge necessary to succeed as legal professionals.
In the Law School, there are 31 full-time faculty members and 34 part-time members, including

teachers who have gained business experience in the real world as lawyers, judges, corporate lawyers, examiners of Japan Patent Office, and American arbitrators. All of the staff are renowned specialists in their fields.
