How was your first experience ofconducting?I did the best that I could in my own way, so as not todisrespect the students in Kyudai-Phil, who had gatheredspecifically for this occasion. I realized how difficultconducting is and it gave me a renewed sense of theprofundity of music. When I was considering the mostappropriate style of leadership after I became president, Irealized that this was it. I’m not the type who’s a dominantleader; I’m better suited to building consensus.
