Preparation for migration of Primary Mail Service to Microsoft Office 365
Information Infrastructure Initiative is preparing migration of Primary Mail Service to Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online around 13:30 on Tuesday December 18th, 2018. After the migration, nobody will be able to read new messages using the current Primary Mail Service. Please read the following steps to learn how to read new messages using the new mail service (Exchange Online).
Check the first procedure especially as soon as possible.
1. Confirmation that you can sign in to new webmail (Outlook Web App)
The URL of new webmail is as follows:https://outlook.office.com/kyushu-u.ac.jp
You can already sign in with SSO-KID. Please be sure to sign in now and confirm that you can find a message from Information Infrastructure Initiative titled "Test message for confirmation" in your inbox. After 13:30 on Tuesday December 18th, new messages will be delivered here.
2. Mail forwarding setting prior to the transition date (if necessary)
If you are forwarding messages of your Primary Mail Address to another email service, you need to configure Office 365 Exchange Online similarly. You can set the forwarding address using the webmail in step 1. Please refer to the manual of the following URL to set the forwarding address before December 18th.
3. Adding a new account for Office 365 Exchange Online to your email software/application Users of email software/application to read email messages need to add a new account for sending/receiving messages with Office 365 Exchange Online ADD a new account for Office 365, referring to a manual corresponding to your oftware/application in the following URL. Since messages will be delivered to the existing account until noon on December 18th,you should not change the setting of existing accounts.
Please make sure that you can read a message from Information Infrastructure Initiative titled "Test message for confirmation" in the inbox of the new account.
4. Interruption of the alias address setting service
The service for the current mail system will be terminated on December 10th, in order to migrate the current alias address setting to Office 365. The similar service for Office 365 is under preparation and expected to be available in Feburary 2019.
