To Kyushu University Students, Faculty, and Staff:
Concerning the Kyushu University’s guidance for COVID-19, the guidance level will be maintained as "1.5 (Partial Restrictions)", but some detailed wordings mainly in “Research”, “Classes”, and “Travel & Going Out” parts have been revised. This revision was made in consideration of the recent increase in vaccination rates and the easing of entry restrictions in other countries.
At Kyushu University, about 10 new infections have been reported per day, in Fukuoka Prefecture as a whole, the number of new cases continues to remain high.
There is a possibility that the number of infected people will increase sharply during the Golden Week holiday season, when people will be moving more frequently. Once again, please note that students, faculty, and staff are requested to take all basic infection prevention measures. For those who have not yet received your third vaccination, please take another consideration for the vaccination offered by the local government*.
→With regard to research activities, while giving the utmost consideration to preventing the spread of infection, research activities are to be conducted as usual, with appropriate consideration given to the characteristics of the research field.
→In principle, classes will be held face-to-face basis, but please note that;
- Measures such as switching to remote classes or canceling classes may be taken depending on changes in the infection situation.
- Classes can be conducted by remote methods in cases where consideration is required for students who have difficulty commuting to the school due to a basic illness or disability.
○Travel & Going Out
→Regarding business trips to foreign countries and study abroad by faculty, staff, and students, in countries with an infectious disease risk level of 2 or lower, the head of the department will determine permission for travel.
