3,788 Graduates Take Off
On 25th March, the 1999 Kyushu University Graduation Ceremony was held at the Memorial Auditorium on Hakozaki Campus 2,427 students were awarded Bachelor's degrees and 1,361 others received Master's degrees.
The ceremony opened with a performance of Brahms' "Academic Festival Overture, Op.80" by the Kyushu University Philharmonic. President Sugioka then congratulated all the new graduates and urged them: 'Never lose your desire to challenge for a better world so that you can make a full contribution to society as a whole."
On behalf of the assembled undergraduate and Master's course students respectively, Mr. Kosuke Aiura from the Faculty of Law and Ms. Akiko Emoto from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences replied in turn that they would endeavour to use the experience they had gained at Kyushu University as much as possible in their future careers.
