Growing Alumni Ties
Kyushu University Alumni Association has been set up to further promote the connections that to date have been confined to alumni associations in each faculty and region.
On 24th March 1999, President Sugioka and Vice-Presidents Yada and Shibata joined together with the representatives of each alumni association to attend the founding ceremony and elected Mr. Shigeru Ohno, the President of the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Economic Federation, as the first President of this new association.
At the following reception, Dr. Hochin Choi, a graduate from the Faculty of Economics in 1941 and now President of the Alumni's Association of Kyushu University in Korea, gave a toast. Both the opening ceremony and the party were a great success.
