Kyudai Phil - Showing Real Talent


@@Kyushu University Philharmonic Orchestra, or "Kyudai-Phil" for short, won a grand prize at the 13th Japan University Orchestra Festival held on 20th December 1998. Ten selected universities were participating in the festival and Kyudai-Phil was making an appearance for the first time. The orchestra performed the fourth movement of Rachmaninoff's "Symphony No.2", winning high praise from several judges including Mr. Tadaaki Odaka, one of Japan's most famous conductors, and received the prize awarded for the most distinguished performance.

@@Kyudai-Phil also celebrates its 90th anniversary this year and, as part of the anniversary festivities, will be giving a concert this June. We hope that many of you will be interested in going along to listen to what promises to be a musical evening to remember!
