One of the key objectives of the oce isto establish and develop relationships between KyushuUniversity and universities in Hanoi, among othercities in Vietnam. Since its inception, the oce hasbeen cooperating with Japan International CooperationAgency (JICA) to implement projects of education,training and research, with special attention towardagricultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan.e Hanoi oce is focusing on tasks such as:1. Supporting students and researchers as the leadcontact of research collaborations and studentexchange programs between Japan and Vietnam.2. Coordinating and helping recruit undergraduate andgraduate students who wish to study at KyushuUniversity.3. Providing and updating the latest information forVietnamese students to help them choose theirmajors and with the annual enrollment procedures.4. Promoting understanding of Japanese culture andthe training programs provided by KyushuUniversity in order to maintain a sustainablerelationship with high schools in Vietnam territory.5. Maintaining a network of Vietnamese students incooperation with Fukuoka International StudentSupport Center (FISSC).6. Maintaining the alumni association, Fukuoka JapanAlumni Vietnam (FJAV) which has a large numberof research students who are attending programs allover in Fukuoka. is helps both Japanese andVietnamese students to understand their respectivecultures by holding seminars and ?eld trips.e Fukuoka-Hanoi Friendship has been establishedfor 5 years and the year 2013 marked the 40thanniversary of the Vietnam-Japan friendshiprelationship. Consequently Vietnamese people havebecome more interested in Fukuoka City. KyushuUniversity is one of the most famous former imperialuniversities in Japan where the Vietnamese Agronomistnamed Luong Dinh Cua had previously studied. EveryVietnamese citizen is extremely proud of this andwishes that a talented young generation of Vietnamesewill be trained at Kyushu University to contribute intheir e?ort for the country after graduation.As Kyushu University o?ers a variety of scholarshipsand grants for international students, Vietnamesestudents are positively thinking toward studying here.Having the branch oce in Hanoi is anotheradvantage that allows students to fully understand allthe details of the program's enrollment at KyushuUniversity.rough the ?eld trips we hold occasionally whereJapanese and Vietnamese students interact and learnabout the di?erent cultures of each country, as well asthrough other activities, the Hanoi Oce isencouraging more students and researchers toparticipate in educational exchange programs betweenKyushu University and universities in Vietnam.Kyudai News No.26 26
