We, educational leaders, should exert our wisdom not only to avoid carrying over the negative heritage of the 20th century to the 21st century, but also to succeed and build on the achievements of the past. In that connection, I have proposed to establish Network Points to contribute to the activation of research activities and the creation of new interdisciplinary research fields. It is my pleasure that the Conference will contribute to the cooperative relationship between Asian universities."		President Jae Yoon Park, who will organize the next year's Conference in Pusan National University, concluded the Conference with the following remarks: "I hold in great esteem President Sugioka and Kyushu University's distinguished service for not once but twice organizing this Conference. It is clear that these events have made a great contribution towards strengthening collaboration among Asian universities." The Third Conference is tentatively scheduled for November 6 through 8, 2002, after the FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan.
