Talk&Tea

Many student organizations in Kyushu University promote activities under the concept of gbuilding a better society with our own hands.h The focus of each organizationfs activities differs, with such themes as environmental, international, economic and political issues. However, they share an interest in social problems and a devotion to finding their solutions. Aiming to provide such organizations with the opportunity of deepening exchanges and developing further, a regular meeting, gTalk & Tea,h is now being held at the Culture Cafe.

The first meeting took place on November 28, 2003. Representatives from about 10 organizations attended the meeting and the activity details and objectives of each organization were presented. Views were exchanged on current problems. At the second meeting, held on December 22, a suggestion was made to cooperate in the promotion of events for freshmen. Talk & Tea meetings will be held once or twice a month to further strengthen ties between the organizations. Meetings will also be convened to discuss the details of the events.

MyChallenge
gMyChallengeh was established in October 2002 to pursue voluntary activities on and off campus. There are two main activities: gHello Cleaning,h a cleanup activity on campus; and gChari Aid,h a scheme to recycle illegally parked bicycles. Visiting nursery schools and delivering NGO lectures are also a part of our activities. Through these activities, we would like to build a new culture of youth who are full of hopes and dreams.

Network NODE
gNetwork NODEh was established in April 2003 by university students who are interested in NGOs. The extent of the network has grown from Kyushu University to cover the entire Fukuoka Prefecture. We organize special programs on themes such as poverty and peace. We also help people to exchange information and opinions through the mailing list. Under the concept of ginternational cooperation,h Network NODE provides people with opportunities to meet others and spend meaningful time together.

No Genre
gNo Genreh works to establish links between people. We have organized a party for the overseas students to offer them a chance of meeting Japanese students. To promote communications between Kyushu University students and the full-fledged members of society, we have also arranged a meeting entitled gtalk with adult members of society.h Our activities also include publication of gKyudai Walker,h the Kyushu Universityfs informational magazine. No Genre is only one and a half years old but vigorously meeting its new challenge.

AIESEC Fukuoka
gAIESEC Fukuokah is jointly managed by students from Kyushu University, Seinan Gakuin University and Fukuoka University. Our main activity is to act as an intermediary on a global scale to arrange student internship. AIESEC Fukuoka works for students to offer the opportunities to meet other people beyond the border of nations, languages and religions.

Culture Cafe
Requests from the students wishing to mix with other students of various majors created this unique cafe, which is managed entirely by voluntary students. A cup of tea or coffee here encourages students to talk to other students with whom they would normally find little chance to get acquainted. gCulture Cafeh is a meeting spot to make friends with other students of all faculties, grades and nationalities.

NPO Kankyosouzou-sha
Kyushu University campus is scheduled to move to Motooka, Nishi-ku ward, Fukuoka City in a few years time. The university is currently promoting a biodiversity conservation project at the new campus site, such as gmoving foresth and gmoving pondsh to protect the ecosystem against the construction work. As a part of the project, we are engaged in activities such as cutting over grown bamboo groves, building footpaths for nature walks, and observing living creatures. Letfs join us to build a campus which is friendly to both humans and to nature.

MPIF
The phrase gOne for all, all for oneh well represents the atmosphere MPIF has. We aim to realize our objectives by cooperating with like-minded friends and striving together to improve ourselves. We organize monthly forums to propose business plans, as well as weekly sessions to deepen knowledge of various fields ranging from the economy and political measures to IT.
