The Alumni's Association
of Kyushu University
in China Founded
Kyushu University currently registers 512 Chinese students, which accounts for 44% of the total number of foreign students. Recently, Chinese returnees founded the Alumni's Association of Kyushu University in China. From Kyushu University, President Kajiyama participated with Trustee Koterayama, Trustee Imanishi, and Trustee Yanagihara. In celebration of the foundation of the Alumni's Association, the International Symposium on Academia-Industry Collaboration was held following the general meeting. Trustee Koterayama of Kyushu University and Mr. Cao Zhaomin, Deputy Director of the Science & Technology Division, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, reported about their efforts toward academia-industry collaboration at each university. At the Returnee's Business Foundation/Inauguration Exchange Event, three Chinese entrepreneurs who are Kyushu University alumni made presentations on their experience in starting their businesses.
The establishment of this alumni's association is expected to enhance the network of Kyushu University graduates in China and further expand the academic and international exchanges, which will be marked with promotion of academia-industry collaboration and education of outstanding students.

Student's favorite - Egyptian Food
In front of the central cafeteria on the Kyushu University Hakozaki campus, an Egyptian fast food mobile restaurant called "Nabi-san" is open, and is gaining much popularity among students. In response to the request from Kyushu University for serving meals for Muslim students, Mr. Amer Nabil opened this mobile restaurant. He lives in the City of Kitakyushu and is the only chef who serves Halal food (alcohol-free, pork-free dishes for Muslims) in the Kyushu area. Of a total of about 1,200 foreign students, there are about 150 Muslims, but Mr. Nabil says, "I'm surprised to see many Japanese students as well as Muslim students enjoying my food."
The menu includes 6 choices, including the Chicken donair sandwich, shish kebab, and curry, with prices starting at 280 yen.
A foreign student at the restaurant said, "I come here a lot because the food is very good. It's very convenient, too." He was sitting at the bench in front of the restaurant enjoying the food.
Mr. Nabil said with a smile, "I serve tasty and healthy food at reasonable prices. Please come and try."
