Second Kyushu University Member Infected with Novel Coronavirus

On Friday, March 27, 2020, PCR test results by Saitama Prefecture confirmed that a Kyushu University student has the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) following his return to Japan from the United States. As with the first Kyushu University student who tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 17, we have confirmed that this student has not visited any of the Kyushu University campuses since returning to Japan.

We wish the student a full and speedy recovery. Furthermore, Kyushu University has established the Novel Coronavirus Crisis Response Headquarters, which oversees the consideration and implementation of measures to curb the spread of infection, and in an effort to ease community anxiety, we will continue to provide the latest information as the situation develops.
