Message from the President on the Recent Earthquake in Taiwan

We are deeply saddened by the loss of life caused by the earthquakes that struck Taiwan on April 3, 2024. The Kyushu University community extends its heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives and their families, and its deepest sympathies to those affected by this tragedy.

Kyushu University has a long history of educational and research exchanges with students, researchers, and technicians in Taiwan.

The University will make every possible effort to provide support in cooperation with related organizations in Japan and abroad.　

We sincerely hope for the earliest possible recovery for those affected by the disaster and for the restoration and recovery of the affected areas.

驚悉2024年4月3日臺灣發生的大地震造成了嚴重的傷亡和損失，我們對此深感痛心。我校全體成員對不幸離世的人們及其家屬表示深切哀悼，並向所有受災者致以誠摯慰問。

我校與臺灣眾多學者、學生和技術人員進行著豐富的教育和研究交流。我們將與國內外的相關機構合作，盡最大努力給予支持。

我們衷心祈願受災者儘快恢復正常生活，災區早日完成復原和重建工作。
