Professor Toshihiko Takemura Selected by Clarivate Analytics as One of its Highly Cited Researchers

The Highly Cited Researchers 2016 selected by Clarivate Analytics have been announced and Professor Toshihiko Takemura of the Research Institute for Applied Mechanics has been selected as a highly cited researcher in the field of geosciences. The Highly Cited Researchers list is compiled by the global information services company Clarivate Analytics, based on an analysis of its own database for analyzing trends in academic papers.
In the recently published list, published papers and citation data for the 11-year period from 2004 to 2014 were examined and researchers who have published at least a certain number of highly cited papers space – papers with a very high impact that rank in the top 1% by citations for field – were selected as “the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds.”
Professor Takemura is engaged in research primarily focused on evaluating the impact on climate from aerosols(*), which are airborne particulates. In addition, he actively distributes information such as projections of future climate change, as well as posting weekly aerosol forecasts on his own website.

(*) Aerosols: Microscopic liquid or solid particles suspended in a gas, such as PM2.5.
