President Svein Stolen of University of Oslo (UiO), Norway made a courtesy visit to President Chiharu Kubo of Kyushu University, accompanied by Vice President Ase Gornitzka and Senior adviser Ms. Anette Loken on Wednesday October 10th 2018.

President Stolen visited Japan in order to attend the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum which is held every year in Kyoto in early October, and he visited Kyushu University after the forum. This visit which he hoped was realized because the UiO and Kyushu University have just concluded an academic cooperation agreement and a student exchange agreement, which both are on faculty level in May 2018.
President Stolen and President Kubo exchanged lively opinions regarding the latest activities at their universities, together with Dr. Ogata, Vice President, Dr. Saeki, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Ueyama, Vice Dean of Faculty of Humanities, and Dr. Yang Yu, Assistant Professor of Faculty of Humanities.
We are willing to promote academic and student exchange in the future with UiO.
