University Fair Held in Fukuoka for International Students

　On Wednesday, August 29th, 2012, this university fair took place at the Memorial Auditorium on Hakozaki Campus, for international students who are studying at Japanese language schools and for others schools in Fukuoka Prefecture. It was co-hosted by eight universities located in Fukuoka City (Kyushu Sangyo University, Seinan Gakuin University, Nakamura Gakuen University, Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Fukuoka Dental College, Fukuoka University and Fukuoka Women’s University, in addition to Kyushu University), and aims to provide information about each university by hosting consultations on higher education that targets international students studying at Japanese language schools and other institutions in the prefecture. This type of event has so far been restricted to mainly Tokyo and Osaka.
　At the venue, each university set up a booth to provide information and conduct promotional activities using brochures and application guidebooks. Also at the auditorium, Masako Ogasawara of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) gave a lecture on the subject of entering Japanese universities (graduate schools), and described support systems for international students, such as scholarships.
　Even on this really hot day, over 200 international students visited the event. They enthusiastically listened to the explanations and asked questions at the booths of their choice.
