Message from President Ishibashi regarding the Noto Peninsula earthquake

On behalf of Kyushu University, I would like to express our sincere condolences over the loss of many precious lives in the earthquake that struck the Noto area of Ishikawa prefecture on January 1st, 2024.
We extend our deepest sympathies to all who have been affected.

We would also like to express our deep respect for those who are working hard saving lives and rescuing people in affected areas, as well as engaging in recovery and reconstruction efforts.

For students affected by the earthquake, we will make every effort to ensure that your studies are not disrupted and will provide necessary support.

We understand that many are anxious as aftershocks continue to occur in the region. We hope for the safety of everyone affected and for a rapid recovery of the disaster-stricken area, and will continue to provide as much support as possible.
