1. The University's Original System for Tuition Fee Exemption, Enrollment Fee Exemption/Deferment
Kyushu University has its application system, the "original system," for students facing financial challenges in paying enrollment and tuition fees. This system is intended for individuals who excel academically but face difficulties in covering enrollment and tuition fees, as well as those with exceptional circumstances that hinder their ability to pay those fees. To learn more about eligibility and requirements, please refer to the "Application Guidebook" below.
Exemption Amounts
- Enrollment Fee: Full exemption or half exemption available.
- Tuition: Full, half, or one-quarter exemption available.
*Additionally, a deferment system for enrollment fees is available, allowing students to postpone payment until the end of September for those admitted graduate in April and for those admitted undergraduate in April until 20 days of receiving their notification of results.
2. Emergency Tuition Fee Exemption
This system provides an emergency exemption of tuition fees to students whose household finances have a sudden financial situation change due to the impact of COVID-19. The exemption amount can be full, half, or one-fourth of the tuition fee.
*The program is for students who were continuously eligible for emergency tuition fee exemption from the fall semester of the 2023 academic year through the fall semester of the 2025 academic year. The Financial Support Section will notify eligible applicants.
