The SDGs Design International Awards is a design competition organized by SDGs Design Unit, starting in 2019. It invites design proposals that will change society from a wide range of young and potential students, and awards the best ideas from among them. The competition's goal is to share the solutions to social issues created by the students with many people around the world and use them to create a sustainable society.

The third of this event was held under the theme "Let's Create a Carbon-Neutral Society" to realize a "carbon-neutral" society, the greatest challenge facing humankind. -Think Big, Start Small, Move Fast" as the theme. In response to this complex challenge, we received 83 entries from 11 countries and regions this year.

SDGs Design International Awards 2021

The award ceremony, "SDGs Design Live," held on October 16, 2021, was conducted in a completely online format that tens of thousands of people could view. On the day of the event, we invited Professor Shigeki Fujikawa, Director of the Research Center for Negative Emission Technology at Kyushu University, to deliver a keynote speech entitled "Carbon Neutral and Beyond."

How will the design proposals from young students from all over the world created in the SDGs Design International Awards keep changing society? The SDGs Design International Awards will continue to evolve along with their infinite potential.
