Support for Other Research Activities

Focused support is offered for innovative and cutting-edge research projects in the competitive environment inside the university, as well as for department initiatives. These are effected through the program for university revitalization and reform, the leading professors program, the internal university competitive funding program, and the various programs for supporting young, female, and non-Japanese researchers, all of which are programs intended to strengthen the university's pioneering research prowess.

Support for Internal University Research Funding	Support for Women Returning from Maternity and Parental Leave （FY2015～）	This program supports research activities so that esteemed researchers can smoothly return to work without interruptions to their research from maternity and child rearing commitments, to provide on-going training and support for young researchers, female researchers and non-Japanese researchers, and in order to facilitate the diversification of the research environment.
Support for the Employment of Research Assistants	Support for the Employment of Research Assistants (short-term) （FY2014～） ※Hand in Hand（FY2013～）	This program supports the hiring of research assistants who will directly help assist the faculty member under his/her supervision. This program creates an environment for dedicated research, so that delay or interruption of research due to society contributing life events like attending funerals, child care and nursing can be avoided.
Support for the Employment of Research Assistants	Support for the Employment of Research Assistants (Support for Child Care Leave for Professors and Associate Professors) （FY2014～）	This program provides support for expenses, for a period up to two years, to hire research assistants who will directly help the faculty member, under her/his supervision, avoid interruptions and delays in her/his research after childbirth and child care leave.
Support for International Research Exchange	International Conference Travel Expenses Support （FY2007～）	This program offers support for travel expenses to attend international academic conferences and meetings for presentations of published research findings, to provide on-going training and support for young researchers, female researchers and non-Japanese researchers in order to facilitate the diversification of the research environment.
Support for Writing Academic Papers	English/Japanese Proofreading Expenses Support （FY2016～） ※English / Japanese Proofreading Expenses Support （FY2014～2015）	This program offers support for expenses related to revising papers submitted in English (or in Japanese, in the case of non-Japanese researchers) to provide on-going training and support for young researchers, female researchers and non-Japanese researchers in order to facilitate the diversification of the research environment.
