On the following day, he delivered an inauguration address in which he said, “Kyushu University is expected and destined to keep on developing as an international intellectual base that is open to Asia, as a flagship comprehensive university representing Japan, and as a reliable university that brings pride to local residents and prospers with regional societies.”
