nicoichi camera Wins the Grand Prize in the Fukuoka Business Digital Contents Award 2015

   On Friday, January 16, 2015, the public judging committee meeting for the Fukuoka Business Digital Contents Award was held at JR Hakata City (Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City) and the Grand Prize was awarded to the nicoichi camera selfie app for young women, which was developed by the group lead by Kyoko Kita, a second-year master’s student in the Graduate School of Design’s Department of Design Strategy.

　Organized by the Fukuoka Ruby and Software Industry Promotion Committee in order to support software product development and the promotion of software aimed at human resource development and global markets, this year’s award attracted 79 entries from both students and working members of society.

　nicoichi camera is a camera app that enables users to take selfies with the flash even when it is dark, share them instantly, and divide them into folders, so they can take photos whenever they like, without retaining any photos that they do not need. The app was developed by Ms. Kita and her collaborators when they participated in Challenge & Creation (C&C) 2013, organized by the Robert T. Huang Entrepreneurship Center (QREC), and won its creators the top prize in that contest as well. nicoichi camera can be obtained from the iTunes store.
