Academic Year 2016, Kyushu University Matriculation Ceremony

On April 7, 2016 (Thursday), the entrance ceremony was held at Shiiki Hall for 2,653 freshly enrolled students. Following the celebration concert by Kyudai Philharmonic Orchestra, President Kubo delivered a welcoming address and Mr. Takuma Taroura gave a speech as a representative of the new students.
After the ceremony, Shun-ichi Maruno, Executive Vice President of Kyushu University gave a lecture, the university's cheerleading club and the Kyushu University mixed chorus group gave rousing performances to welcome the new students to Kyushu University.
New students will be attending Freshman Orientation during the week and start their academic journey from Monday, April 12.
After the ceremony for undergraduate students, the Entrance Ceremony for graduate students was held on the same day and a total of 2,497 graduate students were admitted. Ms. Misato Tanaka gave a speech as a representative of the new graduate students.
