On July 2, 2014 (Wednesday), SALC(Self-Access Learning Center)organized a study abroad fair at Ito Campus. Unlike typical events of this nature, this fair was mainly planned and moderated by students who have experienced studying abroad via the programs provided by the University.
A total of 16 students who had previously participated in university sponsored study abroad programs made presentations and told of their own personal stories of staying in foreign countries. After the presentations, the 150 participating students were then divided into small groups and discussed the question “Why study abroad?” with their experienced senior students.
Participants made comments such as, “The event was beneficial to me because I could ask questions to someone who had actually joined the program I have always wanted to join.” “Now I can clearly picture myself studying abroad and broadening my perspective”.
SALC will continue to organize various events to provide a place where students can think together and learn from each other.
