SBRC and Fukuoka city co-hosted “Re: Start Up” Workshops!

 Yunus & Shiiki Social Business Research Center (SBRC) at Kyushu University and Fukuoka city co-hosted Social Business RE: Start-up workshops.
The workshops targeted social business owners, potential entrepreneurs and people who are interested in solving social issues in Fukuoka city, the first social business city in Japan. Participants had opportunities to learn the philosophy of Yunus Social Business and its cases and to deeply understand this business method aimed to solve social issues. Yunus Social Business is advocated by Nobel Peace Laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus to independently and sustainably solve social issues.
The goal of the workshops was to review business models, find problems with current business practices and improve businesses to make them more profitable. The workshops consisted of lectures and exercises to look into possible business restructuring. Furthermore, participants learned business structures from a wide range of perspectives by examining some corporate cases including NTT WEST and Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd.
