On January 24, 2024, Kyushu University welcomed a delegation of around 50 people from Korea and hosted the 2024 Korea-Japan Youth Leaders Forum to facilitate student exchange between the two countries.

This forum has been held annually for over 20 years, but this  was the first time it was hosted at Kyushu University.

On the day of the forum, there were several activities: a campus tour led by students from our university; a lecture on environmental issues and biodiversity by Associate Professor Toshinori Tanaka of Asia-Oceania Research and Education Organization; and a debate exchange with undergraduate students.

In collaboration with the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation (ISI), Japanese and Korean students actively exchanged opinions on topics related to "culture" and "economy" in a debate format, providing an opportunity for direct exchange and meaningful discussion between students from both countries.

Through the exchange event, we aim to foster engaging interactions between Japanese and Korean students and hope to sustain further amicable relations in the future.
