Welcoming Tea Ceremony for International Students

   　On November 15, 2013 (Friday), a Welcoming Tea Ceremony for Kyushu University International Students was held on a beautiful autumn day. 120 of both International and Japanese students and faculties joined this event and enjoyed a touch of Japanese tradition.

　The tea ceremony was held at the newly built Ito Guest house so participants were also able to enjoy the fresh scent of Tatami(rush) mats. Students learned how to drink tea from the tea masters and experienced the combination of bitter green tea and sweet Japanese confectioneries. Some of them even got dressed up in Kimono and served cups of tea and confectioneries to other participants.
