Kyushu University and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University agree to establish of Joint Laboratory for Semiconductor Nanotechnology and Bio-medical Science

On June 27, 2024, Kyushu University and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the establishment of Joint Laboratory for Semiconductor Nanotechnology and Bio-medical Science.

At the signing ceremony, Kyushu University President Tatsuro Ishibashi and NYCU President Chi-Hung Lin each delivered remarks. Following their speeches, Professor Masaharu Shiratani, Director of Kyushu U’s Center of Plasma Nano-interface Engineering, and Professor Seiji Samukawa from NYCU’s Institute of Communications Engineering each gave presentations highlighting possible collaborations and future prospects enabled by the MOU. The ceremony concluded with the signing of the memorandum.

After the signing ceremony, researchers in the fields of semiconductors and medical engineering convened for their respective workshops. These sessions provided an opportunity to discuss potential new collaborations, raising expectations for future activities.

The MOU aims to enhance joint research and student exchanges between the two universities, as well as promote interdisciplinary and faculty-wide initiatives.
