Kyushu University leadership and SIAG hold their first meet and greet party

On December 4th, 2024, the first meet and greet party between Kyushu University leadership and SIAG was held at Ito Campus. This event is one of the initiatives under the “Proposal for the Internationalization of Kyushu University 2023.”

The event aimed to discuss issues and strategies for promoting Kyushu University’s internationalization by facilitating exchanges between the university leadership and international faculty members. Additionally, it sought to strengthen the cooperative framework for advancing the university's internationalization through networking among participants.

The event began with opening remarks by President Ishibashi, who expressed gratitude for SIAG's contributions to the university's internationalization. Along with the President, Executive Vice Presidents, and Senior Vice President and Vice Presidents in charge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and international affairs, past and current SIAG members also attended the party. The event took place in a relaxed atmosphere where participants exchanged views.

Since the 2022 academic year, the "Leadership-SIAG Regular Meeting" has been held three times annually to support the university’s global engagement efforts. A meeting also took place before this party, where participants engaged in a lively discussion on advancing the university's internationalization. The conversation focused on the increasing demand for Japanese language education and the progress of bilingual initiatives.

Although this was the first time the party was held, it concluded successfully, with many participants expressing interest in future events.
