Glasgow-Kyushu International Conference: Islands in the Global Age

Islands in the Global Age is the first conference jointly organised by the College of Arts at the University of Glasgow and Kyushu University.
This conference gathers researchers working on a wide range of topics in the Arts and across Arts and Science subjects—from Theatre Studies to History of Art, from Music to Museum Studies, from Avant-Garde Literature and Cultural Studies to Human-Robot Interaction, and from Japanese Manga to Film Studies. The papers in the programme celebrate the long-standing dialogue between Scotland and Japan, and their symbolic relationship with objects and environments which have shaped their identity and their sense of belonging to an insular or archipelagic space over the centuries.
