Kyushu U ranked 14th among Asia Pacific’s Most Innovative Universities in 2018

Clarivate Analytics（owner of the Web of Science）announced that Kyushu University has placed 14th in the Asia Pacific’s Most Innovative Universities ranking for 2018. Using date from Clarivate Analytics, this ranking analyzes scientific literature and patent data across 10 criteria from 2011 to 2016 to determine which universities in the Asia Pacific are the most innovative. Kyushu University has now moved up in the ranking for consecutive years.
An award ceremony was held at Shiiki Hall on Kyushu University’s Ito Campus on April 23, 2019. Vice President Hiroyuki Sasaki attended the ceremony on behalf of Kyushu University and received a trophy from Ms. Watanabe, senior director at Clarivate Analytics. At the same ceremony, Clarivate Analytics also presented Prof. Toshihiko Takemura (Research Institute for Applied Mechanics) and Prof. Chihaya Adachi (Faculty of Engineering) with certificates recognizing them as 2018 Highly Cited Researchers.
