On June 21 2019, President Chiharu Kubo attended a signing ceremony for a university-wide agreement between Kyushu University and Ankara University in Turkey. Founded in 1946, Ankara University is the first university in Turkey. Representing universities, President Chiharu Kubo from Kyushu University and Rector Erkan İBİŞ from Ankara University signed on the agreement.
This is the first case for Kyushu University to conclude university-wide agreement with universities in Turkey. Since Ankara University has Japanese Language and Literature programs, this agreement will actively promote student exchanges.
