On Friday, March 11, 2022, 11 members of the Kyushu University Alumni Association in Egypt (registered January 2021) and ten Kyushu University board members gathered online to hold the "Certification Ceremony of Kyushu University Alumni Association in Egypt."
The event was facilitated by Prof. Hisaeda, in charge of alumni associations, and President Ishibashi and President Prof. Hussain Sorour delivered remarks on behalf of both sides, expressing gratitude for the past friendly relations and expectations for the future development of exchanges. Kyushu University presented a certificate and a university flag as proof of registration with the Kyushu University Alumni Association in Egypt.
The relationship between Kyushu University and Egypt is deep, with the establishment of the Kyushu University Cairo Office in 2009 and the Center for Japan-Egypt Cooperation in Science and Technology (E-JUST Center) in 2010 to promote the acceptance of international students and to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and other universities. At the ceremony, Prof. Tamer Nasr, Director of the Kyushu University Cairo Office, and Prof. Koji Inoue, Director of the E-JUST Center, also addressed the guests and further cultivated friendship through exchanges of opinions.
Kyushu University has enhanced ties with alumni associations in Japan and abroad through the Federation of Alumni Associations of Kyushu University, a federation of departmental and regional alumni associations. In February 2020, Kyushu University launched a new registration system, “Registration for Kyushu University Alumni Association,” broadening its approaches to expanding and strengthening the networks with overseas alumni associations. Visit the Alumni Resources page to learn how you can register an association in your area under this system.
