Kyushu University Hospital wins Quality Achievements Award 2023

Kyushu University Hospital has been selected for the Quality Achievements Award 2023 by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. This prestigious award, honoring organizations demonstrating continual improvements and exceptional outcomes in quality management, was presented at an awards ceremony in Dubai on December 10, 2023.

ESQR is dedicated to the recognition and research of quality improvement techniques. Award-winning organizations are selected based on public opinion polls, consumer opinion surveys, and market research conducted by ESQR. The selection process also takes into account the organization's quality assurance policies, information dissemination, publications, and projects. Kyushu University Hospital was among the 49 organizations from 41 countries honored this year.

Kyushu University Hospital has always been at the forefront of cutting-edge medical practices. By establishing a direct reporting line from the Division of Patient Safety to the Hospital Director, the hospital has realized its goal of ensuring safe, state-of-the-art medicine in its rigorous pursuit of safety. This consistent dedication to these efforts is what led to its selection for this prestigious award.

This global recognition comes on the heels of the hospital's recent ranking in Newsweek's “World's Best Hospital 2023,” further acknowledging our commitment to medical excellence. This award was completely unexpected, so I am very surprised yet very proud to accept it.
