Kyushu University has received a Grand Prize in the National/Public University Division of the “2024 Nihon-Ryugaku Awards” for the Western Japan region. These awards, established in 2012 by the Japanese Language School Teacher Research Convention (hosted by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education), aim to improve the study environment for international students.
The awards process involves questionnaire surveys, which were conducted among educational counselors and faculty members at Japanese language schools. In the survey, participants were queried on the institutions of higher education that they would recommend to international students. Based on the survey results, top universities (in both science and humanities) and vocational schools were selected. From this selection, five institutions from the Eastern Japan region, and five from the Western Japan region, were honored with Grand Prizes.
Our university received a Grand Prize award this year, due to factors including educational content, name recognition, and student satisfaction.
The awards ceremony took place online on June 28. Professor Kenji Iwata, Executive Vice President and Director of the International Student Center, represented the university at the event.
Kyushu University continues to support international students, ensuring they can enjoy a fulfilling student life with peace of mind.
