Distinguished Professors Chihaya Adachi and Shunsuke Managi of Kyushu University’s Faculty of Engineering were selected as Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate, a global information services company. This recognition is based on Clarivate’s unique analysis using its citation trend database.
Clarivate has identified influential researchers through citation analysis for over a decade. Researchers who have published a significant number of papers ranked in the top 1% by citation count in Web of Science are selected as Highly Cited Researchers. This year, Adachi was recognized in the Physics category, while Managi was selected in the Cross-Field category, which evaluates achievements across multiple disciplines.
Adachi has been leading pioneering research in the field of organic optoelectronics, including the successful development of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials, opening up limitless possibilities for new organic molecules. He has been selected for eight consecutive years since 2018.
Managi is at the forefront of research on quantifying well-being and developing new economic indicators, Beyond GDP, as inclusive wealth. He represents the UN’s Inclusive Wealth Report, spearheads international initiatives on natural and human capital, and conducts research aimed at solving urban challenges. He has been selected for three consecutive years since 2023.
