Professor Hiroshi Koide of Kyushu University, affiliated with the Research Institute for Information Technology, the Cybersecurity Center, and the Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, has been named a recipient of the 2025 Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Encouragement Award for Cybersecurity.

The award honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in cybersecurity and are expected to continue contributing to the advancement of cybersecurity in Japan.

Professor Koide was recognized for his many years of dedication to cybersecurity education and research, as well as his leadership in professional training programs and hands-on cybersecurity exercises grounded in practical application. These initiatives have been advanced through close collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and communities both within and outside the university.
