最高裁判所判事に就任した桜井龍子（旧姓：藤井）さん
　平成２０年９月１１日（木）、九州大学法学部卒業で元労働省女性局長の桜井龍子（旧姓：藤井）さんが、最高裁判所判事に任命されました。

　桜井さんは、１５人の最高裁判事の中で唯一の女性で、初の戦後生まれの判事となりました。平成１６年４月からは、九州大学の経営協議会の委員も務めました。
