スイスのPaolo Angelino氏に本年度「伊藤賞」

　本年度「伊藤賞」の受賞者が決まり、総長室で授賞式が行われました。
　「伊藤賞」（Itoh Project Prize in Plasma Turbulence）は、本学の伊藤早苗教授（応用力学研究所）の名を冠した賞で、ヨーロッパ物理学会（プラズマ物理学）に設けられています。
　プラズマ乱流の研究に関して優れた成果を上げた博士課程大学院生を選考し、九州大学へ招聘して、講演や最先端のプラズマ研究施設で共同研究を行う機会を与えるというものです。

　第２回となる今年度も、国際選考委員会による選考が行われ、25人の応募者の中から、Paolo Angelinoさん（CRPP-EPFL、ローザンヌ、スイス）が「伊藤賞」受賞者に決定しました。
　平成19年１月17日（水）には、Paolo Angelinoさんが本学を訪れ、梶山総長から賞を授与されました。

　伊藤教授は「これを機会に科学のみならず多くの日本の文化に接し、日本ファン・九大ファンになって下さい。今後の双方向の交流を期待しています。また将来を期待された若き科学者である事を心に命じて、他の人にも増して研鑚を積んで下さい。」とPaolo Angelinoさんに祝辞を述べました。
