　平成18年12月27日、日本学術振興会から第３回（平成１８年度）日本学術振興会賞の受賞者（２５名）が発表され、本学の大学院比較社会文化研究院 溝口孝司助教授 が同賞を受賞しました。

　日本学術振興会賞は、優れた研究を進めている若手研究者を見い出し、早い段階から顕彰してその研究意欲を高め、独創的、先駆的な研究を支援することにより、我が国の学術研究の水準を世界のトップレベルにおいて発展させることを目的に16年度に創設されたもので、人文・社会科学及び自然科学の全分野において、45歳未満で博士又は博士と同等以上の学術研究能力を有する者のうち、論文等の研究業績により学術上特に優れた成果をあげている研究者が対象となっています。

　授賞式は、来年３月２日（金）に日本学士院で行われる予定です。
