　平成18年11月2日に大学院医学研究院 柳　雄介教授が、第50回野口英世記念医学賞を受賞しました。
　本賞は野口英世博士の偉業を顕彰して設立された賞で、医学分野における優れた功績に対して贈られます。

　柳教授は、麻疹ウイルスの受容体がＳＬＡＭ（別名：ＣＤ150）とよばれる分子であることを明らかにし、麻疹の病態解明のために大きな貢献をしたことが評価されました。柳教授による麻疹ウイルス受容体の解明は、麻疹ウイルスの感染や病態の理解を深めるだけでなく、麻疹の診断や治療につながる独創性の高い世界的な研究業績です。
